WOW!
This has to be one of the best albums released by The Shins. The unmistakable sound is still there with Mercers fine vocals but it has influences here that are showing threads. "Name For You" had me thinking of bands like The Lightning Seeds and then track "Painting A Hole" was reminding me vocally of P.I.L. at their best. These influences are great and add a diversity to the album as a whole. Plus there won't be many listening that are old enough to hear all these influences in the first place so it'll be for me and my fellow lovers of 'the ones who came before' to enjoy and recognise.
Tracks are all brilliant so just put it onto play and repeat as it'll only get better with each listen.
Highly recommended. BUY IT NOW.....thank me later.
