The Youngbloods — Ride The Wind: Comentarios
Youngbloods Live
The Youngbloods became a trio with the departure of guitarist Jerry Corbitt, and two live albums following his departure came out fairly quickly due to a change in record labels for the group. The first, Rock Festival was good, but this one, Ride the Wind is far superior and is a lasting legacy to the musicianship of Jesse Collin Young, Joe Bauer and Banana (Lowell Levinger). The tunes have a loose jazz inspired feeling to them and the extended Ride the Wind is a classic to be listened to over and over. While the studio version on Elephant Mountain is absolutely a classic, the version here is a study in improvisation that other groups of the era should have studied for it's economy of sound and playing. Not a single beat or note is wasted, and it's worth the entire price of admission. Of all the Youngbloods albums, this is the best.
