I loved Leon Bridges first album for it's retro feel & sound but this is raising the bar. The emphasis is on the songs and the voice where the first was on vibe & feel. Listen to them both and you'll get what I mean. The songs on here are just stronger. More confident. Leon Bridges is such a breath of fresh air as he manages to keep soul alive without stepping backwards. This is modern music inspired by the best soul.
Music to play with low lights, a bottle of wine & the one you love beside you.
Highly recommended.
