Unexpected Combo...And it works....

Back in the day, I never thought I'd see an album with Ben E. King and the AWB. I was skeptical when I first heard it, and then it really started to grow on me. Ben E. King made some of the greatest R&B/Soul records with the Drifters and as a solo artist, but he never struck me as someone who could transition to a more rock/slightly funky sound. AWB is the perfect partner, and "Star in the Ghetto" is the marriage that tops off this great disc with great song selections. Lot's of good dancing here, and this record shows both Ben E. King and AWB at the top of their game. Highest recommendation.
