The magic of Debby Boone
This review is for the "Swing This" and the "You Light Up my Life" albums.
Debby is the daughter of famous singer Pat Boone, and granddaughter of country performer Red Foley. She was the third of four sisters who performed for a few years in the mid 1970's with minor success. She embarked on a solo career and her song "You Light Up My Life" released in 1977 earned her a Grammy and Number one spot in the Billboard Hot Hits list for ten weeks! She has released other songs and albums, some with country music feel (her grandfather and her father both recorded many country songs), some with show tunes like in the "Swing This" album which celebrates the `1960's Las Vegas swing style.Overall, her other songs have followed a traditional Christian style, with inspirational lyrics and much religious feel, which earned her two more Grammys. She has several more albums other than the ones in Music Bazaar, but these two are a good sample of Debby's voice, talent and appeal to fans of 1970's music. Highly recommended to build up your collection of great female singers.
