Three Great Talents

While it's billed as a Johnny Hodges disc with Leon Thomas and Oliver Nelson, it really is an album that stars all three talents. Leon Thomas is a great singer, and Oliver Nelson has always created great arrangements for him. Here is adds the wonderful Johnny Hodges into the mix, and the result is a great blending of three terrific talents. It's a Flying Dutchman recording, and the label's financial troubles led to a lack of broad distribution of the original LP of this session. This album showcases three talents and is a real pleasure that belongs in every jazz collection.
