Kiss — Double Platinum: Rassegne
A very special "retrospective"
„Double Platinum“ was the first of six official KISS releases in the year 1978 (four [!] new studio albums and a movie would follow...) and it WAS a new album WITHOUT containing new songs! The silver covered double album featured 19 well-known tracks from the formerly albums - remastered to adapt the sound to the Mastertapes of „Destroyer“ - and in addition a new recorded version of „Strutter“. Some of the songs were remixed additionally, so the listeners could get some new and interesting impressions of their favourite „Monsters“. And remember: That happened only 5 years after the band was founded... If you listen to „Double Platinum“, you surely mean to listen to a Retrospective of a much longer existing and established group. But this was just KISS - always different (bigger, better, quicker) than the other Bands and always on the trace to overtake themselves. Rock and Roll all night – party every day!
