Christine Ott — Only Silence Remains: Reviews
Aging as taking control of one's possibilities
Christine Ott is in first place a talented onde martenot player (a dispositive similar to theremin, but highly developed and with a wider control on the range of sounds produced): playing that instrument she has collaborated with some of the most influential contemporary musicians, first of all Radiohead. She is also a great composer and a fine piano player. "Only Silence Remains" is her second album. In comparison with her first work, here Ott takes a wider control of her ideas and develops them in first person, playing a wider range of instruments and technically verifying the play of musicians that collaborate in the recording session. This second album marks a definitive turn on the mature side for Ott, finally in full control of her abilities and able to show them all. Highly recommended.
