Disco muy interesante en el que se nos muestran fragmentos musicales interpretados con contraltos diferentes, así como con diferentes orquestas. Destacan muy especialmente las voces de Sara Mingardo con el Concerto Italiano así como las de Nathalie Stutzmann com Les Musiciens du Louvre y Marie-Nicole Lemieux, con el Ensemble Matheus. Los fragmentos de música barroca todos estan interpretados con instrumentos originales y criterios históricos interpretativos.
