Out of Print and A Real Jem
These mid-50's recordings are out of print and hard to find. The fidelity is what you'd expect of a radio broadcast taped by a college student with an old Ampex tape recorder, but what it lacks in sound quality and balance is makes up by adding to the legacy of this great quartet.
There are other recordings from this era with similar sound (Jazz at the College of the Pacific, for example), but it's the interplay between Desmond and Brubeck this early in their career that astonishes. A must for any Desmond/Brubeck fan.
