Brilliant
I love this artist! She has dropped into our time from the past. She must have! People don't sound like that anymore. Do they? What a voice! Timeless and aged all at the same time. I heard the opening track on the radio one night whilst driving home and had to find out who it was that had planted the ear worm into my head and left me chanting the chorus for the next ten minutes or so. Rhiannon Giddens is by far the most authentic female singer of blues and folk that I've ever heard without playing old albums by the greats like Bessie Smith or Billie Holliday. This has me excited as it means I'm going to have a future of such a classic blues voice giving me new material to enjoy in the future.
Favourite songs are "At The Purchaser's Option", "Birmingham Sunday", "Better Get It Right The First Time", "We Could Fly" & "Freedom Highway"
This raises the bar for Rhiannon Giddens & places her at the top of her game.
Highly recommended. BUY IT NOW....thank me later.
