Best grime/rap/gospel album in a while!
Stormzy has arrived and what an entrance! This album is so well written. The production is mind blowing for an independently produced effort. As for the songs? Absolutely brilliant. The variety is so wide. The sentiment is strong and uplifting in parts while dark & repressive in others. Exactly as Stormzy was aiming for. And he can sing too! Who knew? lol The combination of grime with rap & gospel is a smooth mix and lifts the album up.
Top tracks are "Cold", "Big For Your Boots", "Mr Skeng", "Cigarettes & Cush", "Blinded By Your Grace, Pt.2" & "Don't Cry For Me"
This guy is at the top of the U.K. grime scene right now and justifiably so.
Recommended to all grime fans and if you're new to it this is a good album to start with,
