A truly great work marred by either a poor transfer or recording, this performance of Ma Vlast is the victim of circumstance. My feeling is that the download available here is either a transfer from LP or just a very poor upload. The volume levels vary dramatically from selection to selection, and the transfer is in MONO. This is surprising for a Mercury Living Presence Recording, and since I have not been able to find that a CD of this LP set was ever released, I have to believe it's just a really poor LP transfer. Look for another recording elsewhere because this is a wonderful piece that is not listenable in this form.
