B. B. King — Live In Japan: Reviews
Great Live BB King
There are many good live BB King albums, and there's also a two CD set titled "How Blue Can You Get?" that collects many of the best tracks from the collection of his live sets. But this one, "Live in Japan" is far and away the best of the B.B. King concert albums. The band is hot, the crowd is lively, and the tune selection is unsurpassed. Every now and then the band gets just a bit sloppy, but even when it is (like on Eyesight to the Blind), the results are fabulous. It sounds like a complete evening's concert, and it plays straight through to the crowd. A terrific effort that originally was released only in Japan and sat in the US vaults for years, this is the BB King Concert album that tops the others.
