Dr. Dre — 2001: Reviews
West Coast at its best
If you are looking for lyrical mastery, sharp delivery and cutting edge subject matter you'd be best to look elsewhere. But if smooth, infectious beats laced with chill out vocals are your thing then look nowhere else. The Beats on this album are class, whether its "Bang Bang", "XXplosive", "Still DRE" or any other track on the album you are guaranteed a dope beat...The vocals are hot as well, Eminem at his rawest moment, Snoop kicking his addictive flow, Nate Dogg providing catchy hooks. This album really does have it all in terms of West Coast rap. This is the kind of album you can sit back and enjoy while your getting your smoke on. If you don't own this album your aren't a fan of rap, period.
Recommended.
