Funky Mick!
Simply Red are back and I have to say I was excited to hear this. But it's a little disappointing for me. It's a good album. Solid songs. Great production. Mick Hucknall is sounding soulful, as you'd hope & expect. But I was around when Simply Red first hit the airwaves. I remember buying their first album "Picture Book" and I'm still playing it all these years on. (34 years)
A lot of fans will be happy with this though. I was just hoping for that 'Sad Old Red' magic from back when money was too tight to mention. But I guess that even Simply Red were gonna struggle to keep 'Holding Back The Years'.
Worth a listen...
