The Definitive Document....
This is the definitive document of the craziest R&R tour ever to hit America. With a band put together and "conducted" by Leon Russell, this conglomeration of musicians (and assorted wives and girlfriends as the chorus) hit the road and toured America just long enough to run up some huge hotel bills and destroy everything in their path. But as they did it, they made some great music. Really great music. Joe Cocker was the star, but in many respects he was just a player like everyone else. This Deluxe Edition (CD's 1 & 2) is a vast improvement over the original 1970 mix that was muddy and sonically poor. It's a great record of a wild tour, and it stands up to time over 50 years later. You don't need the 6 cd Fillmore set of the groups tour. This has all the highlights on two disks and is a joy to play over and over again.
