Θεωρείται ως ένα από τα καλύτερα album που ηχογραφήθηκαν ποτέ. Το 2007 οι editors του Vanity Fair του έδωσαν τον τίτλο του best soundtrack of all time ενώ το περιοδικό Tempo θεωρεί πως είναι το καλύτερο album των 80s. Δικαιολογημένα. Θρυλική ταινία, θρυλικό και το soundtrack. Ο συγκερασμός ηλεκτρονικών ήχων, R&B, ροκ, metal, funk είναι το βασικό χαρακτηριστικό του album. O Prince καταφέρνει να γίνει απόλυτα εμπορικός χωρίς να χάσει την πειραματική του διάθεση...
The One & Only
This is the album that launched him. The period where his frustrated creative juices over flowed onto paper, mirrored onto the stage and immortalised on celluloid for everyone to enjoy. Prince continued to produce great albums & fantastic singles like "Raspberry Beret" but as a body of work this is the one album I would urge every music lover to have in their collection. It's a work of genius that shouldn't work but it does. It delivers in spades and sounds as fresh today as it did then. It blew everyone away at the time of its original release because there was nothing to compare it with. Unique. Brilliant. R.I.P. Prince Rogers Nelson
