Understated
Been a fan of The Shins for a while now and this isn't as a good as 'Chutes Too Narrow'... but that is because Chutes is an almost perfect album! This is better than I had expected having heard some bad things about the birth of the album, but this is good! "Simple Song" (track 2) is The Shins of old while the closing track "Port Of Morrow" is achingly beautiful! If you already like The Shins, you shouldn't be disappointed. If you are new to The Shins then start with "Chutes Too Narrow". I always say try before you buy and search Youtube and make up your own mind. Reviews only show ONE person's view of a product and with music everything is personal taste. Some bands try to remake their best album, others want progress and growth and experiment... I just want something that makes me smile... this album makes me smile a lot! Enjoy....Recommended.
