Beach Boys zenith
This album is considered The Beach Boys' zenith point in their career and Brian Wilson's masterpiece.Something comparable to The Beatles' Sgt Pepper.
The compositions are serious,not light surf music,the instruments used vary beyond electric guitars and basses,and the recording is excellent given the technology of the time.I suppose that this is the less known album of the band exactly because it is not exactly pop,although it contains the super hit Good Vibrations.
Notice-this album is the more pop-ish reincarnation of SMILEY SMILE of 1967.Many songs of SMILE were reworked to give it a more accessible sound and arrangement and make it more public-friendly.If you are into this music and care about such things, you should first download and listen to SMILEY SMILE.
