Albert King — Thursday Night In San Francisco: Reviews
Live Wire/Blues Power Part 3
Like it's companion volume "Wednesday Night in San Francisco", this set was recorded during King's two night stay at the Fillmore when Live Wire/Blues Power, his breakthrough album was recorded. All together these three albums chronicle the tunes that were played over 4 sets in two nights. They are King at the height of his career, and the sound is far superior to any other live King albums out there. This volume includes renditions of some of his pre-Stax material when he recorded for Bobbin and Parrot records, including I've Made Nights By Myself and San-Ho-Zay. Great record, and along with LW/BP and Wednesday night, this three discs are by far the best live recordings ever captured with Albert King at his peak.
