Van Morrison — Live At Orangefield: Reviews
Easy Going Live VM
Recorded over three nights in late August, 2014 at the Orangefield Secondary School (where Morrison had been a student), this album has a smooth, almost studio feel to it. A direct to disc recording, the mixing is a bit strange at times by almost pushing VM's vocals too far to the front. But the jazzy, loose feel to the disc makes that forgivable, and overall this is another great addition to the live collections of VM's performances. The song selection is career spanning, the band is solid, and I'm sure he has more great concert recordings in the basement. If they're as good as this one, I can't wait to hear them.
