Bill Medley — Damn Near Righteous: Reviews
One Novelty Track Doesn't Make an Album
The version of the Beach Boy's "In My Room" is the novelty on this album. Brian Wilson and Phil Everly join Medley and add harmonies, and while their distinctive voices are fun to hear in the mix, the track is as flat as the rest of the album. The arrangements are all fairly uninventive charts, and Medley was always much better when he had Hatfield as his harmony partner. The only other track that's really of interest is the duet with McKenna Medley. Her harmony adds some real emotion to the track. Otherwise, it's another album available purely for Medley and Righteous Brother completists.
