More nice stuff
Tina May has a huge discography that includes some of the best Jazz Album bargains on this site, but that also makes it hard to know where to begin.
I like this British singer in everything I've heard so far
because she uses her vocal range in a smart and playful way that doesn't detract from the songs themselves.
This fine collaboration is no different and I recommend it highly.
She's lightly accompanied here in a way that usually highlights her vocals and seems to draw her out into the room.
Well balanced piano, clarinet and sax both move along with her tempo
and are driven by it on several tracks
which is remarkable and a nice change too.
Well mastered, nicely up-front just as you want in a small combo jazz recording
and it burns an excellent sounding CD at 320kbps.
