The JB Band
When he moved over to Mercury (Smash) records with his production company, JB wasn't allowed to release anything with his own voice. So he recorded a few albums of instrumentals with his band, and this is one of those efforts. They're kind of big band arrangements, but they cook none-the-less. James had one of the best bands around, and their workouts on these tunes are extremely listenable. While there's nothing groundbreaking here, the LP is fun and an appropriate addition to the James Brown Band LP collection. Just check out Jabo's solo on his tune Jabo.
