A Great Concert and A Timeless Classic
There are two great later day JB albums, and this is one of them. Truly a great concert (in Paris, no less) with one of the best bands that James ever assembled. Bootsy Collins, Jabo Starts and Fred Wesley round out an amazing band, and though this concert was recorded in 1971, it wasn't released until two decades later when Polydor decided to make it available. This is the funkiest LP ever released by James, and it stands out as not just a snapshot of a truly great band in concert, but as one of the best live albums ever. Not to be missed, this disc along with Say It Live and Loud in Dallas, 1968, that also took decades to see the light of day, are the two best live James Brown albums to own.
