Οι Arctic Monkeys συνεχίζουν από εκεί που σταμάτησαν οι Last Shadow Puppets, με το "The Age Of Understatement", αφιερώνοντας αρκετές ώρες ακρόασης στη δισκογραφία των Black Sabbath, αλλά και των Cream και του Jimmy Hendrix, όπως δήλωσε και ο Alex Turner. Συνολικά μπορούμε να πούμε ότι το "Humbug" απαιτεί αρκετές ακροάσεις για να εκτιμηθεί, ειδικότερα από αυτούς που περίμεναν κάτι ανάλογο με τις πρώτες κυκλοφορίες του συγκροτήματος.
