Del Amitri — Waking Hours (CD1): Reviews
Great Scottish Soul
Del Amitri were a band from the 80's & 90's who actually wrote very gritty and honest songs about life and love. I loved this album then and I have to say it's aged well. Still sounds fresh and relevant. Del Amitri were well known for their singles and the bonus songs on them being just as good as the hits. Now they've been re-released and along with the great albums come all the bonus songs (on CD2) that appeared on the singles too. Fantastic! Scottish music has always been strong and vibrant and I'm so glad these are getting the attention they deserve. Stand out songs are "Kiss This Thing Goodbye", "Move Away Jimmy Blue", "Hatful Of Rain" & "Nothing Ever Happens". This really is a great collection of songs and I'd urge any lovers of well written lyrics and acoustic bands to add this to their collection today.
Highly recommended.
