Joe Henderson — Power To The People: Reviews
Excellent Milestone Recording
Henderson recorded prolifically for Milestone in the middle of his long career, and this album is one of his best. Pushed (and aided) by the superior rhythm section of Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette, and Ron Cater, Henderson delivers an album with touches of Hancock sensibility and the hard push of Carter and DeJohnette. Tracks range from ballads to a bit of "free jazz", but the sound of Hancock's electric piano holds the entire set together. One of his best efforts with a superior rhythm section - well worth having in your Henderson collection.
