Paul Bryant, Curtis Amy — Meetin' Here: Reviews
Late Night Session
Paul Bryant makes a rare appearance on disc, and the combo of his great organ and Curtis Amy make for a terrific laid back, late night album. Bryant is under recorded, and while this set helps to remedy that problem, it also makes one wanting more. He's a great partner, and these tracks have a great west coast swinging late feel to them. Clarence Jones and Jimmy Miller join them on bass and drums, and they are joined on a few tracks by Roy Brewster on valve trombone. They are unknown to me, but they make the session memorable. It leaves you wanting more.
The first six tracks of this album are the original selections on Meetin' Here, and the remainder are vocal tracks that are not on the original disc.
