Getz At His Best
Getz was never better than when he had Gary Burton playing vibraharp in his quartet, and this record exemplifies the best of their work. Yes, Astrud Gilberto (even with her limited range) is a terrific addition to the mix, but it's the inspired interplay of Burton and Getz that make this collaboration work. This is their best effort together, and you should also seek out "The Vancouver Concert 1965" and "In Paris" to fully understand how well they worked together. It's a shame that their only studio album was "Nobody Else But Me" because together Burton assisted Getz in his most inspired performances.
