Zorn's idea of songbook
This is one of the most important project released by John Zorn. In order to celebrate his 60th birthday he asked to a great amount of the singers that collaborated with him to perform a chosen piece from masada songbook. The reply has been enthusiastic and the result is this wonderful collection. On spot Mike Patton, maybe the singer that mostly contributed and influenced Zorn's music in the last years. The Song Project opens the doors to a whole new chapter in Zorn's music. You can find a version recorded at Le Poisson Rouge: consider that both are live. The present album has been recorded live in Poland, where the whole group gived a series of outstanding concerts. If you love Zorn's music you have to listen to this release.
