Fantastic Dance Album
This is an absolutely brilliant album. Ollie's vocal sound is just phenomenal and the whole electro pop sound is so inventive and satisfying. Also the distinctive lyrics add to the fascination. Yes, the songs are angst laden, and could certainly be described as dark in parts, but wow, the overall sound is just magical, and so immersive. One extra thing is that unlike some albums where there are only say two or three strong tracks - this is packed with very impressive material. There are two solely acoustic tracks (one is a second version of "King") and these demonstrate Ollie's superb musicianship. So all in all....An excellent debut. Full of catchy, boppy, chilled and well produced tunes. Years & Years say their music is something you can both dance and cry to. I did both of those things whilst listening, so I consider this album a triumph.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed!!
