Disappointing
Disappointing. The production is superb, and the signature sound is there (sometimes) .. but..... given the length of time it's taken, for me there is a lack of their single greatest ingredient - creativity. For so long they have been standing head and shoulders above their contemporaries to the point where I'm not sure they really had any. Even the mighty Orbital faded before the Chems. This album just had me waiting for one of those "yes - THIS is why I love the Chemicals" moment.. but it never came. Each of their albums has real highs and lows for me, but this was just a series of "meh" with 2 exceptions "Reflexion" as the undoubted high and "Taste Of Honey" the inexplicable low (did they not learn from the Salmon Dance?!) I don't believe they are a spent force, but this doesn't give me much hope and I loved most of We are The Night and Further. For die hard fans only I think.
