Sleaford Mods — Key Markets: Обзоры
Very good but not great.....
This one is not as strong a set as the brilliant Divide and Exit. There were a couple of weaker tracks on the latter like "The Corgi", "The Blob" is the perfect track on Key Markets, whereas Divide and Exit was full of them. The rest on Key Markets almost measures up with highs like "Bronx in a Six", "In Quiet Streets", "Face to Faces" and "Giddy on the Ciggies". Nothing about Key Markets is as immediate as Divide and Exit, and that's even when disregarding the surprise of that album. Sleaford Mods new album, despite it's short comings, is not only knife edged poetry but musically brilliant and joins my pile of 2015 new releases like the Membranes fantastic Dark Matter/Dark Energy album/The Fall/Wire/Fat White Family/Slaves and many more in proof that vital cutting edge boundary breaking music is at a peak in the UK.
In concert in 2015, Key Markets gets better, with subtleties revealed and changes in tempo adding to the impact.
