Not the Dre of old
It's a hard one to sum up this.the problem being that the chronic & 2001 are both stone cold classics,and this definitely isn't. But, to be fair to dre I wouldn't wanna keep churning out the same material again after all these years,hip hop has changed and so this album had to show a level of evolution from the last.which it does, but it's just not as good as we wanted.there is some great tracks here & some not so great tracks, which is the hardest part to accept given his two previous albums u could play all the way thru without wanting to skip.the chronic & 2001 have killer tunes,classics.this album doesn't.although dre appeares throughout it just doesn't feel like a dr.dre album at all. The real dilemma for the fans is,this is quoted as being dres last album,not exactly going out on the high we thought he would. What happened to all the material he recorded for the detox album? I doubt this it.
