Paul Stanley, Kiss — Paul Stanley: Reviews
It's Paul!
Because of the more and more growing differences between the musicians, KISS went to make a break, in which everyone of the Four would be going to create a Solo Album. The result of this was a sensational coup: Four new studio albums in one year only (And THAT meant: 10 studio albums and 2 Live Double Albums in just five years since the group’s foundation! Is there another Rock and Roll Band, who can keep up with THIS!?)! The records were released on the same day, got Platin immediately and are legendary today.
Paul Stanley’s album is the most familiar one. It’s also the most popular one of the KISS Army and that’s not a miracle: The record shows Paul Stanley's massive influence on the musical style of KISS already at that time. Whatever Paul writes, sings or plays - it's 100% KISS. He's breath, heartbeat, soul and of course also the musical director of the band. His self-produced album contains all the trademarks of his own style. There are smooth ballads, heart-tearing sentimental songs and, of course, a lot of melodic Hard Rock. If you like the music of KISS, you cannot dislike Stanley's Solo-Work, because both are so close together. Listen to this album and you know immediately, what Rock And Roll is all about!
