You Can Skip This One
Another James Brown live album that really doesn't add anything to his legacy, Pure Dynamite was a slot filler in an era when JB was releasing albums at a ridiculous rate. With tinny sound and sounding like the band is completely under mic'd, this is not a live JB album to own. At least it really is live unlike the Showtime album from the same era, but that's not saying much. If you need another JB live album from this era in addition to the two Live at the Apollo volumes, pick up the remastered Live at the Garden album (which was actually recorded at the Latin Casino in New Jersey) for some addition vintage live '60's JB.
