The Isleys Breakout
This is the album that changed the direction of the Isley Brothers forever. With the addition of 3 "new" members, the Isley Brothers embarked on a new sound that was a vast change from their early gospel/soul roots (Shout, Twist and Shout, etc.) and their Motown tenure (This Old Heart of Mine, Take Some Time Out for Love). Funk arrived in the form of the three younger members who took their old "Who's That Lady" tune and turned it into the funky rhythmic "That Lady" which became one of the biggest Isley hits of all time. Coupled with some great covers (Summer Breeze and Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight), this album changed the course of the Isleys career and brought them into a whole new phase. And it's still great today.
