Mystery Jets — Radlands: Reviews
A Real Grower
I'm glad I held off giving my opinion on this 4th album by The Mystery Jets because if I'd ploughed straight in after a couple of listens I'd have probably given it 3 instead of the much deserved 5 I've decided upon. Why the 5? Because this album, more than any of their earlier releases is very much 'a grower not a shower' flowing from haunting love song to confident indie rock hit. The band were over in Texas to record this and the Americana feel is evident without taking away the 'Britishness' of their style. Favourites for me are "You Had Me At Hello|", "The Ballad Of Emmerson Lonestar", "Greatest Hits", "Sister Everett" & "Lost In Austin"
