Lovely beginning
This is the first album by Perfume Genius (a.k.a. Mike Hadreas) is from Seattle and has a sublime talent for writing very beautiful & intimate songs delivered with a fragility that has me captivated and putting this on repeat plays over and over again. Years pass by and I keep coming back for a reminder on why I love his work so much. There are hints of The Flaming Lips in there as well as Mercury Rev but with his addition of melancholy which blends perfectly. Favourites for me are "Learning", "Write To Your Brother", "No Problem" & "When".
Very underrated artist.
I'd urge lovers of laid back heartfelt writing to give this a listen.
