Van Morrison — Astral Weeks: Reviews
Timeless Perfection
This sublime music has nothing to do with rock, or indeed any other genre. Some of it's closer to jazz, blues or even classical music. But Van's never been one to get tied into a particular pigeon-hole. For me this is up there with 'Kind of Blue', 'Blood on the Tracks', 'Forever Changes' or 'Everybody Knows This is Nowhere', as a one-off masterpiece. I've lived with this lovely music for over years and it never palls, never sounds jaded or dated. It reminds me of summer afternoons with cider and friends back when I was in my teens, yet it also sounds as riveting as today.
This is timeless music - out of time - its own world...
Untouchable.
Recommended.
