Great Collaborations
This is a great set of collaborations with some surprising guests – P J Proby for one! Van is in fine voice and seems to be really enjoying the experience. Also, the same backing band plays throughout giving a consistent sound. The set sounds as if you are at a Van Morrison concert with an eclectic mix of guests coming on stage for each number. Van has selected some of his lesser known songs and has given many of them a fresh arrangement so even if you are a Van fan and already have his back catalogue, you will be delighted by this new collection.This album is just gorgeous. It almost appears to be as if good friends were having a jam session. A familiar back catalogue maybe, but with a fresh and new presentation. Favourite track? "Wild Honey" with Joss Stone - honestly I wept.
